Window Tinting Regulations:
Each state in Australia has its own regulations for the type of film that is allowed on passenger vehicles. The law doesn’t allow dark or highly reflective films to be put on these vehicles. Queensland has a maximum darkness of no more that 35% VLT for the front 2 doors. Behind the driver it’s now allowed no more than 20% darkness.
What is VLT:
VLT stands for Visible Light Transmittance. It means the amount of natural light that still comes through when you window is tinted. For example, darkest legal is 35%VLT. This reading can be read with an electronic VLT meter which we have at CT Tinting.
Tesla S:
This new Tesla S is an amazing vehicle, filled with technology and performance. Our customer wanted the same high performance out of a window film also. With near 20 years of knowledge into window films we suggested one of the best films around. The 3M Crystalline is a perfect choice being a multilayered optical film with nano-technology that combines over 200 layers in a very thin film. The film is non-metallized and won’t interfere with mobile devices, radios and GPS. We installed the Crystalline 40% to the Tesla which rejects 60% of solar energy entering the vehicle. The film also stops 99% UV and reduces the glare by 55%. This film will improve comfort and protect the vehicles interior from the UV rays. The outcome was a very happy customer as he couldn’t believe the difference that this film has made.
